The Director General of the Garment and Textile Industries Office of the Ministry of Peace announced the export of 280 million dollars of machine-made carpets last year and said that if obstacles are removed, especially the foreign exchange agreement, there is a capacity to export machine-made carpets up to 1 billion dollars.
According to ISNA, Mohsen Gerji stated in a press conference: Last year, the textile and clothing industry was the leading industrial sector with a growth of 17.1 percent. The growth of the entire industry sector in 1401 was announced to be around 9.
According to this official, last year, acrylic thread production area grew by about 30% and the situation of other areas was almost the same as the previous year. The production of acrylic fibers has also increased by 300%, although the production rate is not very high, but this year the production of this product is targeted to reach from 7,000 tons to 24,000 tons. The production of shoes and leather has also decreased. The decrease in leather production is due to the lack of slaughter, which usually happens after the decrease in demand.
Garji went on to say that the export of machine-made carpets was about 280 million dollars, which accounted for about a third of the total 700 million dollars of exports in the textile and clothing department, and said: There is an export capacity of up to 1 million dollars in the area of machine-made carpets. But increasing exports requires a set of measures. The issue of currency return should also be corrected, which is one of the most important obstacles.
The General Director of the Garment and Textile Industry Office of the Ministry of Security stated that 1,000 machine-made carpet industrial units are active in Kashan and clarified that other floor coverings such as carpets are provided internally. Also, last year we had a total of 1000 tons of acrylic fiber imports, which shows that the chain is being completed. Some of the carpet machines are also made in Kashan.
